"For this exhibition I created a small group of paintings that are first and foremost beautiful objects. Within this limitation each static object was imbued with a visual kinetic quality through the manipulation of materials and formal concerns. I found the use of simple shapes created a physical and psychological place of rest. These shapes also lessen the automatic associative tendency inherent in thought. The glue that holds the viewer is found in the tension between rest and kinesis."
